Sydney Rose Davies bridges a love of vintage apparel with the cutting edge of new design in her r-D collection. This San Francisco area native takes cues from favorite contemporary designers in order to breathe new life into discarded duds. With each garment Sydney hopes to revive the former designer's handiwork and repurpose the worn piece to a current aesthetic. While attending college in rural Utah she put her home-taught sewing skills to the test, reinventing even the most atrocious small town finds. In addition to honing fashion design and construction skills, Sydney enjoys many other artistic outlets. Until recently, fine art, interior and graphic design, and styling only complemented a comfortable day job in finance. Not selling short her business savvy from past work experience, Sydney left the world of power suits in order to regain personal style and creative flair. Now, with a head for business and a heart for art, she feels r-D is the tangible representation of her evolution.
