sammaSAMMA (the swedish word for same) was launched in 2009 by fine artist hanna sandin. in this collection an intuitive handling of materials informs a simple, though idiosyncratic aesthetic. hanna works with various materials including woven metals, cast pyramids and hand crafted leather beads incorporating the repetition of beautiful geometric motifs. her sculptor background is evident in the unique sensibility of each piece. hanna graduated with a BFA from RISD in 2003, and has since worked within the arts in various capacities. this year, hanna recently finished a residency at the LMCC Workspace program in lower manhattan, and completed her second solo exhibition at fake estate in June. hanna has also participated in numerous group shows, most recently in paris at galerie susan tarasieve curated by michael nevin and julia dippelhoffer. |
